Duct Worker

We are looking for a Duct Worker to join the UME team.

Job Description (This list is not exhaustive):

  • Ideally based in /Essex/London/Home Counties, however, you must be willing to work Nationwide when required if necessary. This may include staying away from home – all expenses are paid.
  • Must be willing to work either days, nights or weekends (rate uplifts apply)
  • Predominately working in the commercial/retail sector with some domestic work

Duct Worker – Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation of duct work
  • HVAC installs
  • Fitting duct work, fabrication pieces and supports according to specification
  • Comply with all H&S regulations

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Qualifications in Ductwork/HVAC
  • Previous proven background as a Duct Fitter
  • Certificates up to date including CSCS Card
  • Full Clean UK driving license
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to deal with high work volumes and prioritise accordingly
  • Practical and can-do approach and professional when communicating
  • Excellent time management and ability to multitask
  • Good work ethic with an energetic approach
  • Flexibility and commitment
  • Good general knowledge of HVAC systems
  • Ability to read technical construction drawings

M&E Commercial Manager

We are looking for a M&E Commercial Manager to join the UME team.

Job Description (This list is not exhaustive):

  • Overseeing the commercial aspect of projects.
    • Monthly project reporting (CVR’s)
    • Project procurement
    • Identification, preparation and evaluation of claims including assessment of programme impact and evaluation.
    • Reviewing contractual terms.
    • Raising sub-contract orders.
    • Preparing sub-contractor certificates
    • Preparing financial applications.
    • Working with the design team to carry out VE studies and opportunities. 
  • Managing the estimating team and overseeing the tender process.
    • Reviewing tender opportunities to evaluate for suitability
    • Managing estimating team
    • Tender adjudication
    • Attending tender interviews

Required

  • M&E knowledge is crucial (non-negotiable)
  • Good knowledge of contract terms such as JCT’s
  • Experience with estimating systems. (Amtec being advantageous)
  • Ability to produce bill of quantities & schedule of rates.
  • Excellent communicator
  • Strong ability to negotiate and problem solve
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Flexibility and commitment
  • Full UK driving license
