Project Description
The project works at M&S Archway, consisted of a new Food hall scheme, incorporating new chilled & frozen food cases. In addition a new IP Alarm network was installed, using an RDM Front End PC and Data Manager, plus a full gas leak detection system was connected to the refrigeration alarm network for remote monitory.
The refrigeration system utilised R744 (CO2) as the refrigerant and both HT and LT remote cases in the sales area were fed by the remote CO2 plant. The refrigeration plant equipment was installed within the purpose built plant enclosure. This project utilised 1 x CO2 Dual Temperature DX booster pack system with remote Gas Cooler, located adjacent to the plant room.
The cold room suite installed comprised of a chiller and a freezer cold room. The evaporators in the chiller cold room were split between the HTLT1 CO2 DX system & Rivacold SFM068G012 (Chiller) & SFL080G012 (Freezer) units to achieve the required diversity & back up in the event of pack failure.
Each cold room back up system has its own 750TDB controller as well as an additional PT1000 room probe. A TDB program was written to monitor the room temperature & to switch the monoblock on when required and transmit alarms.
Both cold rooms were fitted with LED lighting, emergency lighting, entrapment alarm, refrigerant leak detection and beacon.
New Brookland Lion chilled cases, Shurland produce and Carter remote frozen food cases were all installed into the new Foodhall. The CO2 branch & main services were run at high level on the ground floor, and drops at specified locations to connect the respective islands and wall cabinets. The main header exited the building through the floor at the rear wall & runs at high level within the basement car park.
A strength and pressure test of the relevant installed refrigeration pipe work was undertaken. This was witnessed by a relevant independent insurance representative.
